‘Turning Tricks: Old-School Magic by New School Artists’ (2005) was an exhibition of Sydney-based artists who utilise aspects of illusion in their practice. Showcasing

lo-fi art tricknology, the exhibition sought to reveal the spectacles that can be teased from seemingly mundane materials. It featured work by Hannah Furmage, David Lawrey,

Todd McMillan, Ms & Mr, Soda_Jerk, Sam Smith and Simon Yates. This show was the inaugural exhibition of the First Draft Emerging Curator program.
