We think of video as a technology of time travel. More than any other medium, video conveys the sense of a fragment of time teleported into the now. The rental video store becomes a Tardis where you can rent video-portals to other time zones.

The timecodes contained in a rental video include the time when the film footage was shot, the time of the narrative and the unique history of each video object. The viewer also brings their own timecodes to this equation, such the previous occasions

they’ve viewed the film and how old they were at the time. Our video remix practice is a technics of time travel that involves the creation of new video works by recombining samples from existing films, TV shows, music tracks and video games.
